PRE-SURGERY TRAINING
TRAINING IN PREPARATION OF BARIATRIC SURGERY

Bariatric surgery represents a moment of particular strain on the whole body. In particular the respiratory and cardiovascular apparatus are subjected to high levels of stress due to the invasive nature of the medical-surgical treatment.
Patients affected by obesity are particularly vulnerable and consequently are open to a greater risk of complications.

Following a pre-operative course designed to improve physical fitness and prepare the body for the operation helps to reduce risks and speed up post-operative recovery.
This is why we have developed pre-operative preparatory training (optional and chargeable) designed to help the patient cope with the surgical procedure. Training is aimed at:

- 1. Respiratory rehabilitation together with giving up smoking (at least temporarily).

- 2. Motor and cardiovascular rehabilitation through specific exercises aimed at reducing body weight by 5 - 10% in the three months prior to surgery in order to minimize complications.

- 3. Nutrition rehabilitation also aimed at reducing body weight by 5-10% in the three months prior to surgery so that the patient is better able to cope with and obtain the maximum benefits from surgery.
